It is believed that John Franklin spent some time living at 60 Frith Street - the site of Frith St. Gallery, Soho - before setting off on his final search for the North West Passage.

This book,  published on the 100th exhibition of Frith Street Gallery, is based on extracts from Franklin's diaries, written during this period under the title 'Narrative of a Journey to the shores of the polar sea in the years 1819,20,21 and 22'.
