For All the Lives We'll Never Live

I found photographs of her in one of the boxes... she was a doctor, the friend of an artist... she sits on top of a mountain looking out over the sea;  she sits in the open door of a house, holding a cup, squinting into the sunshine;  she turns to smile at someone in the darkness of the room beyond the frame... she died in 1937.
